Description
This former mill, built in the mid to late 19th century, is constructed from rubble stone and features slate roofs. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high on a raised basement. The southeast angle is marked by cut grey stone quoins, and the camber-headed openings are adorned with cut stone voussoirs.
On the south side, there is a broad door on the ground floor to the right of a flight of steps that leads up to a central loft door. The south wing has one window on each floor. A lower range extends southward with a seven-bay roof and three large openings, all of which have been enlarged. The main range features a ground floor opening with a scratched date of 1874 on the voussoir and a loading door on the first floor.
The high north wall showcases a large later 19th-century iron water wheel, which was originally overshot, along with a small window above it and two windows on the upper floor beneath the eaves. The main range has a three-bay 19th-century roof supported by wishbone trusses, while the wing has a similar two-bay roof. There appears to be no surviving machinery within the building.
