Description
This is a mid-19th century lofted outbuilding at the northern end of the eastern farmyard range at Llangloffan Farm, featuring an attached horse-engine shed. The structure is built from rubble stone with a grouted slate roof over the main range, which has a half-hipped design, while the northern side of the engine house has a slate roof.
On the western end of the main range, there are external stone stairs leading to a loft door, and a raised door on the ground floor to the right. The building has cut stone cornerstones. The northern side features a central door with rough stone voussoirs and a six-pane loft window located under the eaves to the right. To the left, the engine house is constructed of rubble stone with a three-sided canted northern end that is windowless. The western side of the engine house used to have two open bays; currently, one bay has been fitted with double doors while the other has been infilled with a window. The eastern side is also infilled, and there is a lean-to structure against the wall of the main building beyond. Additionally, the main building has a loft window on the eastern end.
Inside, there is a collar-truss roof and a partial loft floor in the southwest angle of the main building. There is one iron sheet with belt-wheels present, but otherwise, no remnants of the horse-engine survive.
