Description
Gorrig Mill is a former corn mill built from rubble stone and topped with a slate roof, featuring a stone stack at the west end. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range. On the first floor, there are four long narrow windows, while the ground floor has three similar windows and a broad doorway located in the third bay. All openings are adorned with stone voussoirs, and the windows have slate sills. The original glazing is missing, as are the voussoirs of the right end windows, which were noted as missing in 1991. The mill has flat eaves supported by paired brackets.
At the east end, there is a wheel-pit for an overshot wheel, which is now missing. The west end features one large window that is a later addition, as the original voussoirs remain intact above it. There is also a low two-story northeast rear wing that has a door to the right and a window on each floor to the left. The rear of the main range is built into a bank, with a full-height center opening and ledged double doors on each level.
At the time of inspection in 1991, the mill was disused and in a state of deterioration.
