Description
Pantolwen Mills, originally a corn mill and later part of a woollen mill complex, is constructed from rubble stone and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a square plan and stands three stories tall, built into the bank on the west and north sides. The south end includes two small windows on each of the upper floors and a ground floor entry with a large camber-headed doorway. On the east side, there is a door leading to the first floor with a timber lintel. The rear of the building has two small windows on the second floor. The west side features a single-storey addition with a chamfered angle. A mill-wheel was located at the rear.
The mill appears to have been a corn mill that became part of the woollen mill complex built in 1895. As of 1991, the building was noted to be in a deteriorating condition.
Inside, there are heavy timbers on the ground and first floors, and the roof consists of a three-bay collar-truss design, with the principals morticed to short posts that are inset in the wall.
