Description
This end-terraced house, located at 26 Main Street, features colourwashed stucco cladding and a slate roof that is hipped to the left. It has a moulded eaves cornice and a tall rendered stack at the left end. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window range. The upper floor includes two plate glass sash windows, while the first floor has a centrally positioned three-light sash window without glazing bars, featuring a raised surround that mirrors the facade of the adjacent property at No 22.
The ground floor showcases a late 19th to early 20th-century shopfront, which consists of two panes at the front and a third pane that is canted towards a recessed doorway. There is a 20th-century door with an overlight above it. The overall fascia has a cornice supported by consoles and plain pilasters. A narrow sill band on the first floor cuts across the window opening, indicating that the window may have been enlarged. The left end wall is constructed of colourwashed stone rubble. Previous listings describe the windows as having cambered heads.
