Description
This is a terraced house located at 18 Main Street, constructed with painted roughcast and a stuccoed ground floor. It features a slate roof that is lower than that of the adjacent No 16, and has a brick stack at the left end. The building has a moulded cornice at the overhanging eaves. It is three storeys high with a three-window range, displaying 12-pane sash windows. The second storey has only two windows, which break the eaves, while the ground floor includes a large plate glass window to the left of the central door. The door is a 20th-century half-glazed design with a plain overlight, set within a late 19th-century rusticated surround that has a moulded keystone. The main windows are adorned with fluted pilasters and moulded keystones, while the upper windows have simpler raised side strips. There is a thin sill band at the first floor and a plain plinth.
In a previous listing, the roof was noted as being made of grouted cement, the upper floor windows were smaller and did not break the eaves, the door was described as a six-panelled design, and the ground-floor left-hand window was identified as a late 19th-century to early 20th-century window featuring three tall square-headed lights within a casing of pilasters, fascia board, and cornice on consoles.
