Description

Haroldston Cottage is a cottage constructed from squared brown sandstone, topped with a slate roof that overhangs at the left gable. This gable features bargeboards and cut stone end stacks, which have dripstones and capstones. The cottage is a single storey with a loft and has a double fronted design. There are 9-pane hornless sash windows on each side of a central boarded door, with all three openings adorned with cut sandstone square hoodmoulds and cut stone voussoirs. The windows have painted slate sills.

The left end wall, which faces the bridge, is made of similar stone and includes a small 4-pane loft light beneath a hoodmould. On the ground floor, there is a narrow 8-pane sash window on the right with a hoodmould, and a lean-to structure on the left. The right-hand end wall is rendered and features a loft light. At the rear, there is an outshut. The forecourt is enclosed by rubble walls that have stepped end-on stone coping, and there are square sandstone gatepiers topped with painted pyramid caps, along with three stone steps leading up to the entrance.

The property has not been inspected.
