Description

Higgon's Well is a holy well chamber dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a rough rubble stone roof, which was likely originally covered with stone tiles or slates. The chamber has a rectangular plan, measuring approximately 5 meters by 3 meters. At the west end, there is a restored small pointed entry with stone voussoirs. The rear wall was rebuilt in the 20th century and includes double-boarded doors and a concrete arch.

Inside, the chamber is said to have a rubble stone vault and benches around the sides.
