Description
The Old Farmhouse at New Mill is a two-storey building constructed from whitewashed rubble stone, topped with a slate close-eaved roof and featuring rendered short stone stacks, with the larger stack on the left and a smaller one on the right. The farmhouse has a long double-fronted facade that includes two small renewed 4-pane sash windows on the upper floor, positioned above two larger 4-pane sash windows and a central square-headed door.
At the rear, there is an outshut that shows straight joints where it connects to the right end, while the left side has continuous walling. The left end features a similar window on the first floor and another in the end wall of the outshut. The right end has renewed windows, with one on the ground floor to the left and one on the first floor to the right, as well as an inserted similar window in the end of the outshut, which has disturbed masonry above and to the sides. The rear of the farmhouse includes a similar window in the center and a door to the right.
At the time of the survey, the farmhouse was under restoration.
