Description

This is a mid-19th century farmhouse with a lower attached range. The main range is constructed of rubble stone with red brick dressings and a grouted slate roof. It is two storeys and has an attic. Large 12-pane sash windows are present on each floor, with flush red brick surrounds and slate sills. The south end of the house is clad in slate, with a 12-pane attic window. The north end has an attic window in a brick surround, and a gabled porch projection with a large round-arched window on the north side. A lower range is attached to the south side, featuring a stone stack, double-fronted elevation with two 9-pane windows above and two 12-pane windows below, brick surrounds, and slate sills. A 20th-century red brick flat-roofed porch fronts the central doorway. The front garden is enclosed by a rubble stone wall with 20th-century brick coping. An ashlar pier with a moulded cap sits at the right end of the wall, adjoining a rubble stone outbuilding with a hipped slate roof and an east-end cart entry, which encloses the north side of the garden.
