Description
This is a pair of limekilns, likely built in the early 19th century, located on the western side of a slipway. They were restored around 1975. Each kiln stands about 3 meters high and is constructed from rubble stone in a circular shape, projecting from the bank. There is a stone-faced ramp leading up from the south and steps in the wall to the north of the northern kiln, as well as a rubble wall between the two kilns. The kilns feature high kiln-eyes of the Dewisland type, with tapering heads that reach up to stone lintels. The circular crucibles have low restored parapets and are surrounded by paved walkways. Between the kilns, the foundations of a lime-burner's hut can be seen.
