Description
Yellaton Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed from rendered stone rubble, featuring slate roofs with gable ends. It has brick stacks located at the left gable end of the front range and at each gable end of the rear range, with slate-hanging on the right gable end of both ranges. The building has a double depth plan, with a single room on each side of the entrance passage in the front range. Stairs run up to the rear of the right-hand room, leading to a kitchen and a second parlour in the rear range.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-window range that is almost symmetrical. The upper windows are 12-paned sashes, while the two flanking windows below are 16-paned sashes, situated next to a 20th-century porch that has a slated gabled roof and a four-panelled inner door with glazed upper panels. There is a lean-to at the left end with a slate roof. The rear facade is also nearly symmetrical, featuring two 18-paned sashes flanking a blind window above two 16-paned sashes, all beside a 20th-century door. Inside, the 19th-century joinery is mostly intact, although the fireplaces have been altered.
