Description
Westleigh Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1830-1840. It is constructed from painted rendered stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable end brick stacks. There is a tall stone rubble stack at the right end of the rear outshut. The building has a symmetrical central stairhall plan with one principal room on each side and is 2 storeys high with a 1 and a half storey service outshut on the rear right side. The facade has a three-window range, all featuring 12-paned hornless sashes. The central entrance has a raised and fielded five-panelled door with a plain semi-circular fanlight above it. The interior retains 19th-century joinery, making it one of the few unspoilt smaller farmhouses from the early 19th century, a time when many buildings in the area were being rebuilt.
