Description
This is a large farmhouse dating from the mid to late 19th century, constructed of unpainted rendered rubble stone with a grouted slate roof and rendered end stacks. It is a two-storey, three-window range. Modern plastic-coated windows now replace the original small-paned sash windows, though retaining a large appearance. A central doorway has an overlight, accessed by five steps leading to a 20th-century door. Basement vents are visible at ground level. The north wall features exposed stone and quoins made of distinctive Caerbwdy stone. A 12-pane loft window, with a brick head, is set into the gable. The south end is also rendered, with a similar loft light and a modern ground floor window. A lower service range adjoins the south side, built of rubble stone with a prominent Caerbwdy stone end stack. This service range is double-fronted with a central gabled porch, rendered on the front, and features cambered brickheads above the windows, which now have plastic-coated replacement sashes matching the main house. A large, south-facing lean-to extends from the service range, with boarded doors facing the front. Before the main house stands a rubble stone garden wall with a white quartz capping and gatepiers made of Caerbwdy stone. Granite ball finials mark the north-east and south-east corners.
