Description

Winkle Cottage is a cottage, one of a pair of painted stucco houses, dating from the early 19th century. It has a slate roof with close eaves and red brick end stacks. Each house has a symmetrical facade with a one-window range of four-pane sash windows in the outer bay, and an arched doorway in the inner bay. The doorways are closely paired and have roll-moulded leading edges. Winkle Cottage has a 20th-century recessed door, while the original 6-panel door with a plain fanlight remains. Sill bands and stucco surrounds with shouldered details are visible around the windows on both floors. A raised plinth is also present. Winkle Cottage has 20th-century shutters.
