Description
Stretton House is a terraced house dating from the 19th century. It features a painted rendered exterior with two storeys and three well-spaced bays. The roof is slate, gabled, and close-eaved, with red brick stacks at the ends. The house has a raised plinth and 4-pane horned sash windows throughout, except for the right-hand bay on the first floor, which has a timber canted oriel window with fixed 4-12-4-pane glazing that was renewed in the late 20th century. The central doorway on the ground floor is arched with a stuccoed surround, featuring a recessed door with two long panels and a fanlight adorned with 20th-century radiating bars. Inside, there is a central hall with a dog-leg staircase, which has a closed string, a thin bulbous turned newel, and stick balusters.
