Description

No 14 Deer Park is a terraced house, part of a row of five painted stuccoed houses with slate roofs and chimneys on the right. The house has two storeys, a basement, and an attic, and is two bays wide. The facade is framed by raised pilaster strips on each side, a raised band above the basement, and a raised plain parapet. Each house features one gabled dormer with paired windows and a pediment on brackets, although the 20th-century windows and brackets have been removed from No 14. The first floor has four-pane sash windows, while the ground floor on the right includes a canted oriel window with a cornice and hipped roof. Steps with scroll-design railings lead up to a square-headed doorway, which has a stucco doorcase with a cornice on console brackets. The door is a two-panel design with an overlight above. The forecourts originally had iron railings on dwarf walls; No 14 retains railings and matching two gates featuring a Gothic quatrefoil design, similar to those at No 12.
