Description
This building, located at 2 Castle Square, is a house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features white-painted stucco and has a close-eaved slate roof. The structure stands three storeys tall and has a one-window range. The ground floor includes a large mid-19th century stuccoed canted bay, which is positioned to the left. This bay has three round-arched windows with small panes and radiating-bar heads, which were restored in 2000. Above the bay, there is a central two-storey timber canted bay that has cornices and 4-16-4-pane sash windows. The ground floor bay also has a cornice supported by plain corbels, similar to those found at St Catherine's at the rear, and a low parapet with crenellations that extends to the right over the doorway, which is set in a chamfered surround. The mid-19th century door features two long panels and a three-pane overlight. The building has not been inspected.
