Description
No 6 St Julian Terrace is a terraced house dating from the 19th century, featuring painted stucco and a slate hipped roof behind a parapet. The building has a tall, narrow five-storey front with a single bay width. The former cornice has been scraped of all mouldings. It has twelve-pane sash windows, except for the top floor, which has a 9-pane sash. The ground floor window is now a 12-pane sash but previously had a window with curved tracery in 1977.
To the right, there is a round-headed doorway with a stucco pilastered surround, complete with moulded capitals and cornice. The entrance features a six-panel door and a plain fanlight. The left side wall is rendered, with a parapet and a red brick stack, and there is a twelve-pane sash window in the centre of the third floor.
At the rear, the house has a parapet and slate hanging that was renewed in the late 20th century. The top three floors have a two-window range of closely spaced twelve-pane sashes, with a canted oriel window featuring a configuration of 4-12-4 panes below. The ground floor at the rear is obscured by added public toilets.
