Description

Capel Y Trefnyddion Calvinaidd, a Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, was rebuilt in 1834 and restored in 1936, as noted on a plaque. The structure likely dates from 1834, though some facade redecoration occurred later in the 19th century. This medium-sized chapel features a long north side facade that is roughcast with raised cement dressings and has a grouted half-hipped slate roof.

The facade includes four round-arched windows with small-paned glazing set in plain raised frames, complete with imposts and keystones. The center pair of windows is closer together, broader, and features stained glass in the margin lights. There is a lozenge-shaped date plaque at the center. On either side of the central windows, there is a six-panel door with an overlight, all within a plain raised surround. The chapel has a raised plinth and angle strips.

Additionally, there is one long arched window at the west end and two more on the south rear wall. An attached low range at the west has a 12-pane sash window on each side of the door, with raised surrounds, a plinth, and a west angle strip. The west end features a stack, and the rear of the building has two storeys. The chapel interior has not been inspected.
