Description
The Congregational Chapel is a building constructed in 1836, as indicated by a freestone plaque on the gable face. It is made of coursed and squared red sandstone rubble with freestone dressings and features a slate roof topped with galvanised metal ventilators. The roof ridge runs at right angles to the front of the building, which has a front-facing gable and showcases a simple Gothic style.
The chapel's frontage consists of three bays, with two-light stone mullioned windows featuring pointed arch heads and Y-tracery on each side. In the center, there is a similar three-light window that is set slightly higher than the side windows, positioned above a pointed arch door opening. This door opening has a label with floral stops and is fitted with plank doors that have ornamental iron hinges.
Additionally, there is a two-bay extension to the west of the chapel, which was added in 1880, but this part is not considered of special interest.
