Description

This is an early to mid-19th century corn mill, now disused. The mill is constructed of English bond brick, with a lower section built on a plinth of coursed and squared lias stone. It has double-Roman and pantiled roofs. The central block is three stories high and square in plan. Attached to the north is a single-storey brick engine-house, featuring a tall, tapering square chimney that is significantly decayed at the top. A further single-storey outshut is attached to the south. The central block has plank doors opening onto the ground and first floors. Inside, there were originally two sets of millstones, and one set is believed to still exist. A hoist wheel with a cogged drive is also believed to be present on the second floor. The mill ceased operation in 1944.
