Description
Westeria is a row of three early 18th century classical houses. The central house, number 7, projects slightly and has a hipped roof that forms a pavilion shape. The houses are two storeys high with three windows each. Numbers 7 and 8 have roughcast frontages, while number 9 has a scribed render to the ground floor and roughcast above. Decorative pilaster strips are present on numbers 8 and 9. The houses share slate roofs, rendered and brick chimney stacks, and boarded eaves. The windows are mostly 12-pane sashes, except for the ground floor of number 7, which has later 3-light sash windows. The window architraves are plain on number 7 but decorated with lugs and ornamental keystones on numbers 8 and 9. Each house has a different style of doorway: number 7 has a pedimented doorcase, number 8 a flat-headed entrance with a bracketed hood, and number 9 a recessed arched entrance. The doors are 6-panel to numbers 7 and 8, with an ornate semicircular fanlight above the door at number 7; number 9 has an 8-panel door and a 5-pane fanlight. The rear elevation of number 7 features a roughcast wall and a sash window. The rear elevation of number 9 has a lower, 2-storey scribed render lean-to.
