Description
Dolewen is a two-storey building with a whitewashed roughcast exterior and a slate roof featuring bracket eaves and three stone stacks. The front has a four-window range of hornless 12-pane sash windows. In the second bay, there is a six-panel door topped by a traceried overlight. The roof includes four gabled dormers, each with bargeboards, finials, 12-pane sashes, and slated sides. To the right, there is a single-storey stucco addition that has two 12-pane sashes and a central door. A late 19th-century narrow glazed veranda runs along the right side of the main house and the left side of the addition, consisting of six bays with 3-light windows and a timber cornice supported by curved brackets. On the left end of the ground floor, there is an 8-pane sash window and timber steps leading to a door on the first floor. At the rear, there is a similar dormer located centrally over the main three-bay range, while the fourth bay to the left is set back and features a 20th-century addition in the angle.
