Description
The coach-house at Pantyfedwen is a lofted structure built from rubble stone, featuring split stone quoins and a close-eaved hipped slate roof. The front of the building is formal, with a slightly projecting central bay. The central coach entry is depressed-arched, adorned with cut stone voussoirs and double doors. Above, there is a circular window on the first floor, framed in limestone with pointed keystones and a hoodmould, flanked by two scrolled stones taken from Strata Florida Abbey. Each outer bay has an arched stable doorway and an arched outer window, with the window heads positioned slightly higher than the door heads. Some windows have been partially bricked up and smaller metal windows have been inserted. All arches feature cut stone voussoirs and keystones. On the first floor, there are small horned sash windows with four panes over each door, complete with slate sills. To the left side, there is a large rubble stone lean-to addition.
At the rear, there are two doorways on the first floor, one on either side of a central projection, which has a small window with a cut stone voussoir at its base. Each doorway is accessed by a set of stone steps, with a deep pit located to the right of the right steps. The ground floor left corner of the building has a chamfered angle.
