Description
The former coach-house at Penybont is a two-storey building constructed of rubble stone, topped with a slate roof that has a gentle sweep at the eaves. The quoins change at the level of the ground floor window sill, indicating the likely height of an earlier structure. The front features a concrete string course at the first floor level, with the date 1905 and the initials MLW displayed centrally above. There are boarded carriage doors in the center, a pedestrian door to the left, which likely leads to a tack-room, and split doors to the right. Small-pane casement windows are located at either end. The upper storey has three windows, with gabled half-dormers on the outer sides and metal-frame windows. The east gable includes a three-light window, with a small four-pane window positioned lower right. The rear also features three windows. Additionally, there is a one-bay extension to the west end, built around 2000, which is slate-hung with a glazed gable and modern windows.
