Description
The former coach house at Maes Manor is a two-storey building constructed with roughcast walls and timber-framing in the upper storey. It features a hipped roof with swept projecting eaves. The structure has a main north-south range, which includes a short projection on the northwest side and a lower northeast wing at right angles, creating an approximate T-shaped plan.
The windows are wood-framed casements with leaded lights. On the main range, to the left of center, there is a square clock turret with round clock faces, a swept pyramidal roof, and a weathervane. Facing the house to the east, both the main range and the northeast wing have a pentice supported by wooden posts, along with panelled doors in the lower storey. The main range also features a cross window to the right.
In the upper storey, the main range has a canted oriel window under a gable to the left of center, aligned with the clock turret. This window has a four-light configuration with arched center lights, and beneath its sill is a dated panel. To the left of this window is an inserted doorway and escape stair, while to the right are a two-light and a three-light window. The east end wall of the wing includes a cross window in the lower storey and a hipped roof dormer with a two-light casement. The north wall of the wing retains two two-light windows, although other windows have been replaced. A single hipped roof dormer has a two-light casement, and two roof dormers to its left also retain casement windows. The northwest projection features a wide round arch with voussoirs facing a drive on the north side, with an attached dwelling (Maes y Ffynnon) further west.
