Description
Gelli-Dywyll Farmhouse, also known as Cwmgelli Farm, is a 2½-storey farmhouse featuring grey roughcast walls, a steep corrugated metal roof, and roughcast stacks. The main part of the house is situated on a sloping site and includes a rear kitchen wing that is set back from the uphill end, along with a lower extension at the downhill end. The main range has a rendered stack on the right and a gable hall stack on the left. The house faces west, with its entrance located in a gabled porch that is offset to the right side, featuring a segmental-headed doorway. To the left of the entrance is a small-pane sash window that was added in the 19th century. On the upper storey, there is a 2-light wooden casement window on the right and a wider casement window on the left, both of which were inserted in the 20th century. The attic includes a single roof dormer positioned to the right of centre. The lower extension has a stack on the right end, an inserted casement window in the upper storey, and two windows on the lower storey. The uphill (north) gable end features an external stack that has been modified to incorporate a trough, with small attic windows on both the left and right sides of the gable. The rear wing has a single ridge stack, and its rear gable end includes a boarded opening on the right side in the lower storey, along with an inserted 3-light window in the attic. The rear of the downhill extension has a single-storey projection, with an inserted window to the left. The lower (south) gable end features a boarded door on the right and a lean-to on the left. The property was inaccessible at the time of inspection.
