Description

The barn at Pantyfedwen is a rubble stone structure that has a late 20th-century metal sheet roof, which replaced the original slated roof. On the south side, there is a full-height entry featuring double metal sliding doors. To the left of the doors, there is a ventilation slit, and the wall includes three small alcoves, likely intended for bee-skeps—one to the left and two to the right of the slit. The west end wall contains five rows of dove holes with slate sills, totaling 29 openings, of which three have been filled in. Below these dove holes are two ventilation slits, with the right-hand one recently enlarged. The rear of the barn has a door situated between two ventilation slits.

The roof structure has not been inspected but is reported to be entirely modern. Both doors are said to feature reused truss heads as lintels, with mortices for tenoned collars and slots for purlins.
