Description
Cwmllechwedd Uchaf is a substantial detached farmhouse built from rubble stone, with some traces of whitewash. It features a slate roof with close eaves, a brick stack on the left, and a massive external stepped stone stack on the right. The building is two-storey with an irregular three-window range. The upper floor has smaller windows grouped centrally, while the ground floor has two larger windows—one beneath the upper left window and another closer to the right of the central doorway, along with a third much smaller window to the far right. The upper openings are adorned with brick voussoirs, while the ground floor windows have stone voussoirs and slate sills. All windows have been renewed in 20th-century uPVC. The central entrance features a plain board door.
The left gable end is rendered and includes a large six-pane attic casement. The right end is largely occupied by the external stack, which is stepped on both the front face and sides. There is a doorway to the right in the end wall of an added lean-to at the rear, with a small four-pane casement above it. The lean-to has a straight joint with the main range and occupies the left end of the rear wall of the farmhouse. At the center of the rear, there is a 20th-century uPVC window on each floor, with the ground floor window being smaller.
Inside, the kitchen features a large inglenook with an oak beam and a bread oven. The ceiling has an exposed oak beam with roughly squared joists.
