Description
The walls of the walled garden and lean-to at Gelli are from the 19th century. The garden is enclosed by earth walls on three sides, featuring a high base made of rubble stone, topped with cob that was formerly whitewashed and capped with corrugated iron over thatch. The northern side of the walls shows significant erosion. There is one door on the north side. The eastern side includes a rubble stone and slate lean-to with six open bays supported by whitewashed stone piers, along with a length of whitewashed wall to the right. The southern side has a short section that connects to the northeast angle of the house, featuring one entry framed in stone, and another short section to the west of the house that has a broad opening, which may have been altered, and two pointed arches. This section is constructed of rubble stone. On the western side, there is one door with a timber lintel.
