Description
Pen-y-pistyll Mawr is a pair of houses likely built together, constructed from colourwashed rubble stone and topped with a slate roof featuring three whitewashed stone stacks. The larger house on the right is double-fronted, while the smaller house on the left has a two-window range. Both houses are two storeys high.
The right house has two upper six-pane windows, each with a single opening pane, and a ground floor right four-pane casement window, all set on stone sills. There is a centrally located ledged door, and on the ground floor left, there is a six-pane window with one opening pane and a slate sill.
The left house features two upper four-pane windows, each with one opening pane and stone sills, and a ground floor left horned four-pane sash window with a slate sill. The door is located to the right. All ground floor openings have timber lintels. The end walls are whitewashed, and there is no outshut. A small lean-to has been added to the right end wall.
