Description
14 New Street is a three-storey building with a basement, featuring a two-window design. The frontages are mostly scribed render and roughcast. Numbers 10 and 12 and 14 and 16 are reflected pairs, while No 8 has an additional window on the altered ground floor. The building has slate roofs with wide bracket eaves and mainly rubble chimney stacks. The sash windows do not have glazing bars, except for those in the basements. There are three-storey bay windows at Nos 10 to 20, and No 6 features a two-storey oriel window above a tripartite ground floor window. All the doorcases, except for No 7, are pilastered with cornice lintels, and there are various panelled doors. The doorcase for No 20 has been filled in with a fixed glazed window, and the entrance is now located on Castle Street through a similar doorcase. The rendered end wall has a sash window on the right.
