Description
12 New Street is a three-storey building with a basement, featuring a two-window facade that is mostly scribed and has roughcast frontages. It is part of a group of reflected pairs with Nos 10 and 12, and Nos 14 and 16. No 8 has an additional window on its altered ground floor. The building has slate roofs, wide bracket eaves, and mainly rubble chimney stacks. The sash windows lack glazing bars except for those in the basements. Nos 10 to 20 have three-storey bay windows, while No 6 features a two-storey oriel window above a tripartite ground floor window. Each entrance has pilastered doorcases with cornice lintels, except for No 7. The doors are variously panelled, and the doorcase to No 20 has been filled in with a fixed glazed window, with the entrance now located in Castle Street through a similar doorcase. The rendered end wall has a sash window to the right.
