Description
16 New Street is a three-storey building with a basement and features a two-window facade. The frontages are mostly scribed and roughcast render. Numbers 10 and 12, as well as 14 and 16, are designed as reflected pairs, while No 8 has an additional window on the altered ground floor. The building has slate roofs, wide bracket eaves, and mainly rubble chimney stacks. The sash windows do not have glazing bars, except for those in the basements. There are three-storey bay windows at Nos 10 to 20, and No 6 features a two-storey oriel window above a tripartite ground floor window. All the buildings, except No 7, have pilastered doorcases with cornice lintels, and there are various panelled doors. The doorcase at No 20 has been filled in with a fixed glazed window, and the entrance is located in Castle Street through a similar doorcase. The rendered end wall has a sash window to the right.
