Description

20 New Street is a three-storey building with a basement, featuring a two-window design. The frontages are mostly scribed and roughcast render. Nos 10 and 12, as well as 14 and 16, are reflected pairs, while No 8 has an additional window on the altered ground floor. The building has slate roofs with wide bracket eaves and mainly rubble chimney stacks. The sash windows do not have glazing bars, except for those in the basements. Nos 10 to 20 feature three-storey bay windows, and No 6 has a two-storey oriel window above a tripartite ground floor window. All the buildings, except No 7, have pilastered doorcases with cornice lintels and various panelled doors. The doorcase of No 20 has been filled in with a fixed glazed window, and the entrance is now on Castle Street through a similar doorcase. The rendered end wall has a sash window to the right.
