Description

This is a late Georgian terrace of buildings with Victorian alterations, running from a single-story former bank to the corner with Castle Street. The fronts are of stucco, render and roughcast, with slate roofs, wide bracketed eaves, and chimney stacks built of rubble and brick, some of which are cement rendered. The windows are sash windows, with small panes of glass remaining in the first-floor windows of number 3, and the left-hand first-floor window of numbers 7 and 13. Other windows have horns. A small oriel window is located to the right of number 5, while numbers 7 and 13 feature two-story bay windows, mostly with panelled aprons. The window architraves are keystoned at number 3, plain at numbers 9 and 13, and have Tudor labels on the ground floor of number 9 and segmental labels above the central entrances of numbers 11 and 13. Other entrances are offset to the left, next to an altered shop front at number 3. Number 5 has twin tripartite windows, and numbers 7 and 9 have additional windows in the centre. The doors are half-glazed and panelled, and some small-paned basement windows are present. The left-end wall in Castle Street is roughcast and includes sash windows.
