Description
3 New Street is a late Georgian building with Victorian alterations. It is two stories high and features a two-window front made of scribed stucco, render, and roughcast. The building has slate roofs, wide bracket eaves, and chimney stacks made of rubble and brick, with some sections rendered in cement. The sash windows retain small pane glazing on both first floor windows of No 3 and the left-hand first floor windows of Nos 7 and 13, while most other windows are horned.
To the right of No 5, there is an oriel window, and Nos 7 and 13 have two-storey bay windows, mostly with panelled aprons. No 3 has keystoned architraves, while Nos 9 and 13 feature plain architraves. No 9 has Tudor labels on the ground floor, and Nos 11 and 13 have segmental labels above their central entrances. Other entrances are offset to the left beside an altered shop front at No 3, and there are twin tripartite windows at No 5, along with additional windows at the centres of Nos 7 and 9. The doors are half glazed and panelled, and there are some small pane basement windows.
The left end wall facing Castle Street is roughcast and includes sash windows.
