Description
14 Eastgate is a simple two-storey terrace building from the vernacular style, featuring scribed render and roughcast with two-window fronts and plinths. Numbers 12 and 14 are designed as reflected pairs. The building has a steep slate roof with a rubble chimney stack that is rendered for No 14. The sash windows are present, with small panes on the first floors of Nos 8 and 16, while No 18 has modern windows on the first floor. The shop fronts from Nos 10 to 18 retain their cornices and end pilasters, with No 10 being double fronted and No 14 featuring a bowed entablature. The doors are four-panel designs for Nos 8 to 16, with No 8 having a fanlight and No 10 including an additional half-glazed shop door; No 18 has a modern door.
The rear elevations are made of rubble, whitewashed, and rendered, featuring lean-tos and cross ranges.
