Description

Laura House and Laura are a pair of late Georgian style village houses dating from 1865, located on the approach to Pont Aberarth from the north. They are roughcast, with Laura House on the left being colourwashed. Both houses have slate roofs and three stone chimney stacks, the central one marked with the date 1865. Each house is two storeys high and has a three-window range, featuring hornless 12-pane sash windows. A central door with an overlight serves both properties. Laura House has a half-glazed door on the left, while Laura on the right has a 20th-century replacement door. Raised, plain stucco surrounds the windows and doors. There is no adjoining outshut. The pair represent a prominent and well-preserved example of late Georgian architecture in the village.
