Description

Pont Rhydygroes is a single arched stone bridge built from large blocks of rock-faced squared snecked rubble stone. It features a broad segmental arch with rock-faced stone voussoirs. The bridge has a raised string course and a flat parapet made of similar stonework, topped with massive roughly squared blocks. At each end of the bridge, there are raised thin stone piers with a string course that is broken forward and dressed capstones. On the right end of the west parapet, there is a broken reset date plaque that reads, 'Pont Rhyd-y-groes, Adeiladwyd gan Cynghor Sirol Ceredigion 1893, Surveyor R. Lloyd, Contractor, Captain J. Owen'.
