Description

The gatepiers and gates at Hafod Lower Lodge are a pair of widely-separated square piers made of rubble stone. They feature broad rusticated ashlar quoins, cornices, and stepped pyramidal caps. As of 1989, there were iron gates in poor condition, with a pedestrian gate attached to the southern pier and the main gate being detached. Both gates were removed in 2004. A square cast-iron pier, located between the main gate and the pedestrian gate, remains but is partly broken.
