Description
Midland Bank Chambers is a simple classical building from the 19th century, featuring two storeys with rendered fronts. The front of No 31 has scribed render and end pilaster strips, while both buildings have slate roofs that are hipped at the corner, wide boarded eaves, and a cement render chimney stack. No 30 has three windows and No 31 has two windows, both located only on the first floor. The windows have small-pane sash glazing, with the bars removed from the lower sashes of the ground floor windows of No 30. No 31 features lugged architraves and ornamental keystones. The central entrance to No 30 is arched and has a recessed six-pane fanlight, while No 31 has an arched entrance with a half-glazed door. There is also a large public house sign. The Darkgate Street side is finished in cement render and has similar sash windows.
