Description
Penpontpren is a pair of cottages dating from the 19th century. They are constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and feature a corrugated iron roof with stone end stacks, although the left stack has collapsed. The cottages are single storey. The left cottage has a door on the left side and one window in the center. The right cottage also has a door on the left, along with a blocked door immediately to the left of the present door and a window on the right. There is a small outbuilding at the left end, which also has a corrugated iron roof.
Inside the left cottage, there is one side wall of a left end fireplace that would have originally had a timber lintel supporting a wicker chimney hood. The interior consists of two bays with one collar truss and double purlins made of timber, along with the scant remains of brush thatching beneath the corrugated iron roof. The right cottage is currently inaccessible.
