Description
Frost Cottages is a pair of cottages, likely built in the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are made of plastered cob on rubble footings, with rubble or cob stacks topped with 20th-century brick. The left cottage has a slate roof, while the right cottage has a corrugated iron roof, which was formerly thatch. These adjoining cottages each have a two-room layout and face southeast. The left cottage features an axial stack in the party wall, while the right cottage has a projecting end stack. Both cottages are two storeys high and have two window fronts, primarily consisting of late 19th-century to early 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The right cottage has two 20th-century ground floor windows without glazing bars located to the left of its central doorway, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled corrugated iron porch. The roof of the left cottage is hipped, while the right cottage has a gable end. Inside, most original features are concealed behind 19th-century and 20th-century plasterwork. The left cottage has a large rubble fireplace with a plain oak lintel. The roof has not been inspected.
