Description
Wayside is a small house dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It is constructed of plastered cob on rubble footings, with a cob or rubble stack that has a 20th-century brick chimney shaft, and features a thatched roof. The cottage has a two-room plan and faces southwest, with a large stack projecting from the left (northwest) end, serving the larger ground floor room. It is located next to Frost Cottages to the right (southeast). The house is two storeys high and has a roughly symmetrical front with three windows, which are late 19th and 20th-century casements with glazing bars. There is a central doorway with a 20th-century door, and the roof is hipped to the right. Inside, the main room features a chamfered crossbeam with run-out stops, although the fireplace is blocked. The roof has not been inspected.
