Description

Bronfynwent is a farmhouse located at the center of a long range of buildings that slope downwards. It is constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and features a single renewed slate roof. The farmhouse has whitewashed stone end stacks with stepped cornices and dripstones. It is one-and-a-half storeys high and has a two-window range. The attic includes two roof lights and two small four-pane casement windows under the eaves. On the ground floor, there is an inserted doorway to the left and two slightly larger four-pane casements below the upper windows. At the rear, there is a 20th-century lean-to with an asbestos roof that houses the kitchen and bathroom.

Attached to the uphill side of the house is an outbuilding range with two bays, featuring doorways at each end, with the right-hand doorway being lower. According to the occupant, this was the original entrance to the house, which led into the kitchen through an end-wall doorway that was altered in the early 20th century and is now blocked. Attached to the downhill side of the house is a similar range with two doors, with a taller wall due to the slope of the ground and a loft window in the rear wall. Further to the right, there is a single-storey rubble stone lean-to that leans against the gable end of a one-and-a-half storey, two-bay range that is at right angles to the main range. The lean-to has a single doorway, while the range at right angles has three doorways.

Inside, the farmhouse consists of two rooms, with a main living room to the right that includes a small vestibule inside the entrance. Notable features include a flagged floor. Access to the upstairs is via wooden steps, leading to two rooms separated by a board partition.
