Description
The outbuilding at Mynydd Brith is a Grade II listed structure made of rubble stone with a corrugated iron roof. It is built in two parts, separated by a straight joint, and is situated on a downhill site, with the older section located at the uphill end. The downhill end likely served as a lofted coach-house or cartshed, featuring two blocked broad entries on the ground floor, which have stone voussoirs with cambered-arched heads, as well as two arched loft windows. There is a blocked door at mid-height on the left side, which was probably the original loft door accessed by outside steps. The tall right end wall has seven tiers of dove-openings in the gable. The older section to the left is simpler, with three doors that also have stone voussoirs and a date plaque to the right reading 'ID 1830'. The left end gable includes a loft opening with a timber lintel, while the rear wall on the right is constructed of almost mortarless stone.
Inside, the barn is plain, featuring later 19th-century pine trusses supporting the roof. There are four blocked ventilation slots on the back wall.
