Description
The Thatch is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a rendered front and feature a thatched roof. The cottages have stone end stacks with brick shafts and a brick ridge stack. Each cottage has a two-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a four-window range. Both cottages have a central plank door topped with an applied Tudor arch. The windows are leaded casements, mostly with two lights. The cottage on the left has swept dormers, while the cottage on the right features dormers with three-light casements. The left side of the cottage has a projection for a bread oven. The interiors have not been inspected, but the cottage on the left is noted to have an open fireplace.
