Description
The Wormleighton War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was erected in 1921, with later additions made after the Second World War. It is made from Hornton stone and is located in a central position within the village.
The memorial features an obelisk made of Hornton stone, which stands on a square plinth. This plinth is set upon a two-stepped square base. The south face of the plinth is inscribed with a dedication that reads: "THIS OBELISK WAS/ ERECTED BY THE/ PARISHIONERS OF/ WORMLEIGHTON IN/ LOVING MEMORY OF/ THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1918/ AND/ 1939 - 1945." The east side of the plinth lists the names of those who fell in both the First and Second World Wars.
